After nearly 30 years studying religions, a 66-year-old Buddhist monk decided to embrace Islam

In 2015, a Buddhist monk from Taiwan decided Islam is the only truth to follow after studying all religions. After nearly 30 years studying religions, a 66-year-old Buddhist monk decided to embrace Islam.

After being a monk for 28 years in Taiwan, the monk embarked on a journey to search the truth and finally recognized Islam as a perfect and beautiful religion.

Sports Star TV Malaysia reported the monk declared the shahada (testimony of faith of being a Muslim) at a Chinese mosque, and was witnessed by the chairman of the Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association of Malacca, Lim Soon Jooi, who said:

As a monk, he studied many religions of the world. During that time, he said that only Islam he encountered to be the most complete and it covered all aspects.

Soon Jooi further said, “Our main task is to guide him so that he knows Islam more in-depth.”

“First, we teach him in Mandarin, because he is not fluent in Malay nor English. And this requires patience”, he concluded.

The conversion was also witnessed by Datuk Yaakob Md Amin as chairman of Masjid Malacca, and Datuk Dr. Mohadis Yasin, the Mufti of Malacca.

The monk is originally from Johor, and came to Malacca three weeks ago. Tam Sri Abdul Rahim Tamby Chick, a staff at Madjid Malacca said:

When he met me, I explained how logic, science, arguments can be attributed to The Creator.
