Here’s Why We Stand With Erdoğan

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been under the spotlight recently for a variety of reasons since the failed military coup. Understandably, Erdoğan had to make a stance and he did so, which wasn’t taken well by many, notably the secularists and liberals that love to fly the flag of democracy. With all this going on, Muslims were also divided and have been so for many years as to how we should view and uphold the likes of Erdoğan. There have been many who have made different statements to this, and one of the many that stood out was what Shaykh Abu Eesa posted on his Facebook page recently. This right here is pretty much everything in a nutshell.

We stand with Erdoğan.

Not because he is Amir’l-Mu’mineen, not because he is a Mujaddid, not because he is the Mehdi, not because he can recite the Qur’an, not because he opens mosques, and not because his wife wears hijab.

We know that he has made and *is* making mistakes,

We know he is settling personal feuds, we know he is struggling with objectivity right now, we know that he doesn’t apply Islam fully, we know there have been transgressions against the Kurds and possibly other groups too, and we know that he will never satisfy all the fantasists and romantics.

But we *believe* that he intends the best and does so for the sake of Allah jalla wa ‘ala, and He is a’lam about that.

And we know that his good deeds drown out his bad, and that’s just what *we* see from the most secretive of politics possible. We know that his efforts come in the backdrop of the most virulent kufr possible. We also know that with the health of Islam being as it is right now, that we live in the real world and not cloud cuckoo land.

We stand with him because the enemies of this Deen – and the liberal Muslim commentators who do the daily work of these enemies – want to see Erdoğan, the AKP and more importantly *Islam* at any complete or politically applied level, fail miserably.

We pray Allah jalla wa ‘ala protects the believers wherever they may be. Amen.

Here is Erdogan reciting the book of Allah, Al-Qur’an in a beautiful way. We ask Allah to guide him and all other leaders to be the true followers of His book:
