Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhī rājiʿūn
As Muslims, we all wish and hope to have an ending which is in the rememberance of Allah. Some get just that, Alhumdulilah.
Qari Jafar, an Indonesian, was reciting Surah Mulk in a gathering. He was captivating the crowd with his beautiful recitation until he reached the second verse of Surah Mulk. As soon as finished that, he died.
What’s incredible is the meaning of the verse which have become the final words he uttered in this world.
❝[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving.❞
[Surah al Mulk Verse 2]
Allahu Akbar. This is a sign for those who reflect and ponder. We are told we die as we lived and while we see many horrible deaths, this right here is one of the most beautiful deaths any soul can yearn for.
And just look at how Allah has blessed this brother as so thousands, if not millions, have listened to this recitation and have made prayers for his soul, a blessed soul indeed in shā Allāh.
We ought to take heed from such events that Allah uses to encourage us to return to His obedience and know only in His remembrance will their be true success.
May Allah have mercy upon his blessed soul that will now be raised on the day of judgement reciting Surah Mulk.
And may He grant us all such an end which we know is dependant upon how we live.
