In the Western world, we often see stories of Islamophobia with Muslims being targeted for their beards, hijabs and Arabic language.
Thus, when there’s common people who are standing up against such bigotry, it’s heartwarming and important to highlight with the hope it inspires others who may face similar.
Here is Paul Lloyd, a Non-Muslim American, who did just that and reported it on his Facebook account on 14th July with his post going viral, rightfully.
“I was eating this evening at a local fast food restaurant. Two Muslim women sat down on the patio to enjoy a meal. A group of four college age guys inside were making horrible racial comments about these two ladies. When one said ‘they are what is wrong with America’ I couldn’t hold myself back. Although I silently prayed God would protect me from getting my ass kicked in this 4 against one situation, I walked over to their table and said ‘you 4 are what is wrong with America. Your racism sickens me and would likewise sicken most true Americans’.
They told me to mind my own business to which I replied standing up against hatred is absolutely my business.
One of them started to get up and I warned him to take a seat before I taught him how to respect women. They backed off but worried for the women, I refilled my soft drink and sat at the nearest table to them waiting for them to finish standing guard over them.
My dad used to tell me that “evil thrives when good men choose to do nothing”.
In America today, too many good men are choosing to do nothing. These two women had no idea what was happening and I’m glad that they didn’t because it is too ugly.
Good men of America…CHOOSE TO DO SOMETHING! Rise Up! Even if it threatens your own safety.
Until we do, we will watch the destruction of our nation from the inside out by the cancers of hatred and racism!”
