England’s city of Blackburn’s Tauheedul Islam Girls’ High School and Sixth Form College was named Comprehensive School of the Year in the Northwest 2026 as reported by the Lancashire Telegraph.
The UK’s highest-achieving primary and secondary schools were revealed in the 33rd edition of The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide.
The ranking lists the UK’s top primary and secondary state and independent schools. The guide includes a fully searchable national database of more than 2,000 schools by name, local authority, town and postcode.
Schools are ranked by performance at A-level and GCSE in summer 2025.

Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School was in 5th spot (198 nationally) in the list of top comprehensive secondary schools in the Northwest.
The Girls’ school also came seventh in the list top state secondary schools in the Northwest. The school has maintained top spots for years, here it’s in 2019
