Islam and Muslims are often portrayed in a negative light, namely with violence and oppression. In reality, this is far from the truth. Here is one such example showing how a true Muslim puts the teachings of Islam into practice with respect to the treatment of animals.
Watch below how a Muslim man, whilst having his meal at home with his children, allows a little bird to sit on his eating hand. Not only that, the compassionate Muslim even feeds the bird, as if he is feeding his own children.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) showed us the connection of what it means to show mercy to beings on earth:
“Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One above the heavens will have mercy upon you.”
[Tirmidhi 1924]
Such gentle behaviour is what’s befitting of a true Muslim, for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
The believer is gracious, for there is no goodness in one who is neither kind nor friendly.
[Musnad Ahmed 8945]
May Allāh Azzawajal accept from this brother and soften all of our hearts to show gentleness, kindness and mercy to all creations of His.
