A Saudi university professor passed away on Wednesday, October 4, a few seconds after concluding Asr prayer in his mosque in Makkah. Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Elayhi Rajeoun.

Shaykh Dr. Khaled Al-Qurashi, the professor of Da’wa ‘Islamic Call’ and Islamic Culture, was leading prayer in the mosque in Al-`Awali district in Makkah. He was Um Al’Qura University in Makkah.

Concluding the prayer, he sat to make the remembrance of Allah when he suddenly went on one side and passed away in peace.

The imam was buried on Thursday after performing funeral prayers in Al-Masjid Al-Haram.

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“The angels keep on asking Allah’s forgiveness for anyone of you, as long as he is at his praying place and he does not pass wind (Hadath). They say, ‘O Allah! Forgive him, O Allah! be Merciful to him.”

Last July, Syrian Mu’adhin Abdul Haq al Halabi passed away while waiting to call the adhan for Fajr prayer at a Jeddah mosque.

Al Halabi, 60, was sitting reciting the Qur’an and passed away with just minutes left before the time of Adhan.

May Allah have mercy upon our dead, guide us to be busy with such deeds and grant us all such a beautiful ending.
