The 27th Hong Kong’s annual book fair was held between 20th July, 2016 to 26th July, 2016. Record breaking 1.02 million people attended the fair over the 6 days. This year, Islamic Union of Hong Kong and Islamic Cultural Association Hong Kong joined hands to set up an impressive Islamic booth at the fair.
The booth was decorated with a massive poster of the Kaaba with the mimbers standing tall too, mimicking Makkah’s Masjid al-Harram.
The organisers had the following to say about the event:
All praise to Allah, we were quite happy with the public response this year, sometimes we saw 7-10 visitors at our booth at the same time and all the volunteers were engaged with the visitors.
Some visitors may be too shy to ask questions or still have reservation about Islam, but they would just stop by in front of our Kabah backdrop and took pictures.
The title that most people interested to flip over is still the Chinese (traditional) translation of the Noble Qur’ān.
Here are pictures showing the booth and how it attracted a good number of people.
