BERLIN – Muslim worshippers performing `Eid Al-Fitr prayers early Tuesday, July 5, at Arresala mosque in Berlin were surprised when famous German journalist Martin Lejeune came forward to announce his reversion to Islam, pronouncing shahada in front of hundreds of Muslims.
Pronouncing the shahada, or declaration of faith, Lejeune was congratulated by Muslim worshippers. It goes to show yet again that despite the rise of Islamophobia, the religion continues to embraced by those who clearly see it being the only true way of life and thus Islam continues to be the fastest growing religion in the world.
The imam of Arresala mosque in Berlin also praised Lejeune efforts, congratulating him on finding the true path of Islam.
Born in 1980, Lejeune is a famous German freelance journalist and war correspondent. He is known for his criticism of Israel and for his reporting on the Syrian Civil War. He also covered the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict remotely.
German Muslims celebrated on Tuesday `Eid Al-Fitr which crowns the holy fasting month of Ramadan. `Eid Al-Fitr is one the two main Islamic religious festivals along with `Eid Al-Adha.
After special prayers to mark the day, festivities and merriment start with visits to the homes of friends and relatives. And while traditionally everyone wears new clothes for `Eid, children look forward to gifts and traditional `ediya (cash).

The Church of England has suffered a dramatic slump in its followers, shocking new figures show.
Between 2012 and 2014, the proportion of Britons identifying themselves as C of E or Anglican dropped from 21 per cent to 17 per cent – a fall of about 1.7 million people.
Over the same period, the number of Muslims in Britain grew by nearly one million, according to a survey by the respected Nat Cen Social Research Institute.
Former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey warned last night that unless urgent action was taken, the Church was just ‘one generation away from extinction’.
The number of Anglicans in Britain has dropped from about 10.3 million to 8.6 million, and will raise fresh fears over the future of the Church of England, which has been in decline since the 1960s.
Lord Carey, who has warned before about dwindling congregations, said: ‘These figures are a call to urgent mission. I have no doubt at all that the Archbishops, together with the whole leadership of the Church of England, are doing all they can to reverse this trend.’
The current Archbishop, Justin Welby, has also called for the decline to be tackled and is introducing measures to streamline the Church and strengthen its leadership.
Peter Brierley, a former Government statistician who advises religious groups, said: ‘It is very serious for the Church of England and they know it.
‘The problem is that it has a lot of elderly members, but when they die off there are not enough younger people to replace them.’
According to the Holy Quran, all children are born Muslims, it is their parents who make them Jew, Christian or others. This is one of the many reasons why now western peoples are reverting to Islam on their own free will. Through out the history, Muslims never forced non-Muslims to accept Islam. This is the main reason why Muslims lost Spain and India.
The beauty of Islam is that it is a religion which appeals to common sense. There is no blind belief or dogmatism in Islam. The fundamentals of Islam are simple, straightforward and easy to understand.
If Islam is so bad, then why is it the WORLD’S FASTEST GROWING RELIGION! It is also one of the youngest religions. However no matter how hard everyone tries to give Islam a bad name, it will be twice as more populated. So let’s get straight to the point yeah?, Basically Islam is the most hated religion I don’t know why hmm maybe because it is also the most fastest growing religion and 2nd largest but no one will be able to stop this religion from growing.
Islam is the fastest growing faith in Britain. Hundreds and thousands of Brits are reverting to Islam. By the middle of this century, over half of Brits would be Muslims.
